Perfect 3 Hours

History Buff

Take a historic bus tour around Anaconda in a 1936 Yellowstone Park tour bus. This history-packed tour runs about 1.5-2 hours. You get to see the historic buildings left from Anaconda’s heyday and see the insides of one of the oldest churches in town as well as the Washoe Theater. After your tour, enjoy a delicious meal at one of the many restaurants in Anaconda.

Adventurer

Grab a trail map at the Discover Anaconda Visitor’s Center and a sack lunch to go from one of the many restaurants in downtown Anaconda and go explore the many trails in and around town. Didn’t bring your bike on this trip? Not to worry, rentals are available at Anaconda Bicycles. There are miles and miles of trails in close proximity to town that are perfect for hiking or biking.

Downtown Enthusiast

Grab your favorite coffee drink at one of our many local coffee shops. While you’re waiting for your drink download the Historic Montana app. Search for the Anaconda Commercial Historic District walking tour and enjoy some fantastic shopping in our numerous local shops that sell and serve Made in Montana products. Many of these shops are located in restored historic buildings you’ll learn about on the tour.

Friday Afternoon/Evening

Choose from an assortment of accommodations - anything from a hostel to a Best Western Plus and everything in between. After you settle in, enjoy a delicious dinner and explore our charming downtown. Anaconda is one of four accredited Main Street America towns in Montana!

Saturday Morning

In the morning, take a historic bus tour around Anaconda. This history-packed tour runs about 1.5-2 hours and you get to see the historic buildings left from Anaconda’s heyday and see the inside of one of the oldest churches in town as well as the Washoe Theater. After your tour, enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants in Anaconda - there is something to satisfy everyone in the family.

Saturday Afternoon/Evening

After lunch you can rent a bike and ride any of the trails in and around Anaconda; go swimming at the local pool or feed the ducks and fish while enjoying the beauty of Washoe Park. If shopping is more your interest, explore the numerous local shops that offer unique and Made in Montana products. After a fun-filled day you can relax at one of the local watering holes, before enjoying a farm-to-table Montana steak dinner. 

Sunday Morning

Play a round of golf at one of three local courses, play a game of tennis or take a leisurely stroll along the trails in town. Nothing says Sunday morning like a relaxing activity in a beautiful mountain town! For lunch today we recommend one of our local favorites - a Cornish pasty or a pork chop sandwich.

Sunday Afternoon/Evening

Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to enjoy a movie at the historic Washoe Theater. The Washoe Theater has been in operation for 85 years and was the last theater built in the Art Deco style. With the long summer days, grab a picnic dinner to enjoy in one of the many parks in town.

Monday Morning

Grab a coffee and pastry to fuel your fun-filled trip to Georgetown Lake. Georgetown is only 30 minutes from town and provides endless opportunities for swimming, kayaking, fishing and fun! On your way there you can stop and ride the Montana Zipline if you’re feeling adventurous. Before you leave town be sure to book your room for next year!
